History of Facebook Explained In 45 Seconds

Facebook is a social media platform that allows users to connect with friends, family, and businesses, and share content such as photos, videos, and updates. It was founded in 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg and a group of his classmates at Harvard University. Initially, the platform was only available to college students, but it quickly expanded to other universities and eventually to anyone over the age of 13 with a valid email address.

Facebook became extremely popular in the mid-2000s, and by 2009, it had more than 350 million users worldwide. In 2012, the company held its initial public offering (IPO) and became a publicly traded company.

Since its inception, Facebook has introduced a number of new features, including the ability to share live video, the creation of Facebook Messenger for private messaging, and the acquisition of other platforms such as Instagram and WhatsApp. As of 2021, the platform has over 2.7 billion monthly active users.
